They Are Born Under Rules Of The Darknessis the fourth studio album from Finland’s Torchia, a nine-track statement of blackened melodic death metal sharpened to its most focused and authoritative form. Emerging from Tampere’s formidable metal lineage, the band advances beyond its thrash-inflected roots into a darker, structurally refined sound shaped by gothic horror aesthetics, occult symbolism, and infernal thematic continuity.

Musically, the album is driven by precision riff construction, tight rhythmic interplay, and commanding vocal delivery. Tremolo-picked aggression collides with groove-heavy passages and harmonized leads, while orchestral textures deepen the atmosphere without diluting the metallic core. Key tracks such as “Hellmouth,” “Stygian Waters,” and “The Tiamat Machine” showcase Torchia’s ability to fuse technical discipline with melodic memorability and sustained intensity.

Production elevates the record to contemporary extreme metal standards. Drums were recorded at Sound Supreme Studio (Finland) for maximum punch and clarity, while guitars and vocals were meticulously shaped in the band’s own “Mordor” studio. Produced and mixed by Janne Saksa with Villemorte and mastered by Dan Swan, the album delivers dynamic balance, crushing low-end authority, and modern sonic definition.

For fans of Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, and Children of Bodom, this release stands as a mature, cohesive work engineered for both immediate impact and long-term catalog strength.
